Second Annual Libertarian Cruise - Update # 6

Greetings!

I'm delighted to share with you the latest developments for our
upcoming trip!  Sixteen weeks from this weekend we'll be meeting
in Miami.  The next four months will fly by with enjoyable
anticipation.  So many more of you have booked with us that I
am down to the last three inside staterooms for $852 per person.

After those are gone, the lowest rate available will be a $952
per person inside stateroom (Category "Q" in the brochure).  I've
arranged to add some of these to our group because I don't want to
tell any of you, "We're all sold out" if you still want to join in
the fun.  Please book your flight to Fort Lauderdale or Miami as soon
as you can after you decide to join us for this cruise.  I've found the
airfares into these two airports climb each month as the sailing date
approaches.  Latecomers scramble to find the last seats available
on those flights with convenient times for boarding the cruise ships.

Now on to the next segment of your virtual cruise with:

DAY FOUR ON THE ENCHANTMENT OF THE SEAS

In the last segment I concluded by dreaming of today's arrival
at St. Thomas and sailing to Buck Island for some great snorkeling.
Imagine my surprise to learn that instead we're in St. Maarten on
Wednesdays aboard the Enchantment of the Seas!  (I simply forgot
to double check my brochure before composing the Tuesday "report").

Actually, that confusion won't happen aboard the ship because
each port is "previewed" with entertaining talks the day before to
better prepare you for taking full advantage of the best things to
do in every port.

St. Maarten is a beautiful Caribbean island that has a unique
geography.  Half of the island is French and half is Dutch.  You
will find the island spelled two different ways because of this.  It
is the home of my favorite "shore package" of any cruise, sailing
the America's Cup yachts.

Over a decade ago, when the America's Cup was sailed in
twelve meter design yachts, some entrepreneurs purchased several
of the "retired" competition yachts and ever since have offered
passengers on cruise ships the opportunity to serve as crew on
them, sailing an actual race around a shortened America's Cup
course.  It's always great fun.  Several years ago I was the main
sheet trimmer aboard Dennis Connor's old "Stars and Stripes" that
won the Cup!  (we won our race too.)

I'm told that St. Maarten has some beautiful "clothes optional"
beaches (for Libertarians so inclined.)  It's fun to take a tour that
travels to both sides of the island giving you a nice history of the
island.  Once the exploring is done, we reboard the ship and watch
from the deck rail as we sail away.  Then it's on to another gourmet
dinner with our new friends and a good dose of nightlife activities.
Tomorrow we really will be at St. Thomas so don't stay up too late.

Cheers!

Ken
